LOCK IN - SILVER MEDAL

Born during those difficult first months of the 2020 pandemic, Lock In (nee Lockdown) has become a Farr Brew favourite and was justifiably rewarded with Silver in the first competition we entered it in. A hoppy, amber bitter, produced using a mixture of UK and Slovenian (Styrian Wolf) hops.

A Gold Medal winning DDH Pale Ale packed with Amarillo and American Cascade hops. This fresh, crisp and floral pale is proud to have blown away the competition in 2020 at the National SIBA Beer X event

Recognised for our outstanding approach to business. Managing to balance a strong sense of environmental responsibility with growing a business over a short period of time.

At the time of this award, Farr Brew had gone from a small 2 man operation in an old cattle barn to a highly successful brewery with 5 pubs in the space of 3 years.

This award was given just before Covid struck in full force. Later that year Farr Brew went on to open the Bull in Whitwell. Increasing our portfolio to 6 successful pubs and 100+ members of staff.

Providing outstanding customer service and giving time, donations and fund raising for charitable events

Farr Brew is proud to be a central part of our community. Being more than just a brewery but giving something back to the people who support us on a weekly basis.

In this award we were also finalist for BEST LOCAL INDUSTRY SUPPLIER, BEST PRODUCER, BEST INDEPENDENT RETAILER.

Being a finalist in 5 separate awards in one year is a great honur and amazing to be recognised in such a way.

WILDSIDE - SILVER MEDAL

Created and brewed to raise money for HERTS WILDLIFE TRUST this delicious pale ale was crisp and hoppy. Selling countless bottles of this local favourite beer was a fabulous way to raise funds for great charity.

Winning national award for best small production brewery. Showing our versatility in difficult market place to grow our customer base to include over 250 pubs across 6 counties.

GREEN BUSINESS AWARDS 2018

- Our hops are predominantly British varieties - grown here in the UK.

- The honey used in our beer is produced by the bees flying around our barn - as local as you can get!

- Our waste water is used as a fertiliser on the farm in which our barn sits.

- Our waste hops are used by local community ventures as excellent mulch and composting material. They help community projects and local food gardening organisations.

- Our waste grain is used by the local farmer to feed his livestock.

- All packaging is 100% recyclable.

These initiatives combine to ensure that our waste is, by weight, 99% either reused or recycled - a statistic we are extremely proud of and one which we will always strive to improve on.
