We brew a wide range of delicious beers to accommodate for every taste. From deep rich porters to light hoppy pales, malty bitters and hazy heavily hopped IPAs.

Many of our beers have won medals and been declared champions in their respective categories.

For obvious reasons we can’t have all our beers in cask at all times so we rotate through our selection. But try to have a balance or beers at all times. Get in touch and ask what we have on tap and we can recommend a great beer to tickle your taste buds

FARR & AWAY 4.5%

A Gold Medal winning DDH Pale Ale packed with Amarillo and American Cascade hops. This fresh, crisp and floral pale is proud to have blown away the competition in 2020 across the East of England Beer Awards.

FARR APART 4.8%

Dry hopped with large quantities of Mosaic hops this soft, juicy and fruity IPA has a delicate haze and beautiful aroma.

Created during lock down 2020 Farr Apart is the result of weeks of experiments and love for brewing great beer.

PORTER 5%

Six types of malt, old and new world hops, treacle and locally sourced honey from the bees that buzz around our barn and surrounding fields all combine to create a deliciously complex porter with a deep chocolatey nose, and a rich, fruity, perfectly hopped flavour.

A Brewdolph is not just for Christmas...
2018’s Christmas beer was so popular that we were asked to bring it back as a core staple in our range.
This full bodied and delicious copper ale is packed with tasty British and German malts to create a complex but well balanced beer.

OUR MOST PERFECT PALE

Combining premium malt hopped with Sovereign and Cascade varieties to create a powerful pale packed full of tropical and citrus flavours with a fine crisp bitter finish, a perfect combination of complexity and balance. 

PRIDE PALE 4.2%

Brewed in partnership with ‘Ask for Clive’ Charity. This delicious Pale was a drank across St Albans pubs in July as we showed that ‘Everyone is welcome’ in all our venues.

FARR AFIELD 4.3%

Perfect for an Autumnal afternoon in the pub. This amber coloured, fruity bitter has a beautiful malty mouth feel combined with Amarillo and Columbus hops.

A great combination to compliment the seasonal change.

1492 5%

Dry hopped with all American hops...Columbus, Centennial and Cascade. This hazy American style IPA is packed with flavour and fruity hoppy notes.

Unfined, crisp, refreshing and just like some Americans.... a little bitter

BLACK LISTED I.B.A.
For Ye Olde Fighting Cocks (4.5%)

This smoky, powerfully hopped India Black Ale was developed by Farr Brew exclusively for Britain’s oldest pub - Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, St. Albans.

Brewed with three types of malt and a considered combination of homegrown British & imported American hops for a well rounded, punchy flavour.

FRESH START 4.9%

A Southern Hemisphere pale ale brewed with Kohatu & Rakau New Zealand hops.

A delicate pine and citrus aroma with a gentle mouth feel. This refreshing and clean pale ale is the perfect way to start 2021... In a pub garden!

OUR GREATEST GOLDEN

This was the first beer brewed back in 2016 at our brewery in Wheathampstead. A dark, golden ale which is crafted to be light, refreshing and highly quaffable. 

Sovereign and WGV hops are delicately blended with carefully selected grains; producing a golden ale with great mouth feel and a perfect balance of malt and hops. Perfect any time of the year. 

OUR BEST BITTER

A staple of the Farr Brew range; painstaking research and recipe tweaking went into producing a beer we truly believe to be the best bitter by Farr. 

Pale, crystal and chocolate malts combine with Sovereign hops to create this beautifully dark traditional bitter. It’s a perfectly balanced best bitter with a hint of caramel; very moreish and a true session ale.

CURFEW 3.6%

A fresh, crisp & hoppy session ale. Perfect to for quaffing and quenching a proper thirst.

Brewed during the Covid pandemic this beer was made at a time when our pubs were forced to close at 10pm to apparently prevent the spread of the virus.

LOCK IN 4.5%

The beer formally known as LOCKDOWN was brewed during the height of Covid 19.

A deep, rich amber ale packed with rich, biscuity malts with a great malty mouth feel. A very satisfying pint with a deep aroma perfect for those that wanted a little reassurance that everything would be okay.
